Be the Quickest Commuter on Two Wheels with the Mantis E-Scooter

If you’re looking for an electrifying way to spice up your daily commute and weekend adventures, the Mantis e-scooter from Fluid Freeride is here to deliver. You can now pre-order this high-performance scooter, with shipping expected in mid-September. With two versions available, both equipped with two 1,000-watt motors, the Mantis can propel you at an exhilarating speed of 40 miles per hour.

Choose Your Mantis: Base or Pro

Fluid Freeride offers two Mantis variants: the Base and the Pro. While both models can reach a top speed of 40 mph, they differ in terms of battery capacity and travel range. The Mantis Base model is powered by a 17.5 Ah battery, allowing for up to 35 miles of travel in Eco mode when utilizing a single motor. On the other hand, the Pro model is equipped with a larger 24.5 Ah battery, providing a travel range of up to 55 miles in Eco mode. In Eco mode, the maximum speed is 30 mph. However, when using both motors, you can reach the thrilling 40 mph speed, though at a reduced range. Keep in mind that actual mileage may vary depending on factors such as speed, terrain, and incline.

Convenient Charging and Portable Design

Recharging the Mantis battery is a breeze with the included standard 2-amp charger, fully replenishing the battery to 100% in just 8 to 12 hours. Consequently, overnight charging is typically sufficient for most riders. Additionally, Fluid Freeride has plans to introduce an optional fast charger in the near future.

Both the Base and Pro models have dimensions of 49 inches in length, 24 inches in width, and 50 inches in height. When folded, the dimensions reduce to a compact size of 49 inches by 24 inches by 19 inches. Weighing in at 61 pounds for the Base variant and 65 pounds for the Pro, these e-scooters strike a balance between portability and a robust build. While they may not be featherlight, they can still be easily handled and loaded into a truck or trunk.

Powerful Motors and Smooth Riding Experience

The Mantis utilizes two 60V, 1,000-watt brushless motor controllers to drive both the front and rear wheels. It glides on 10-inch-diameter by 2.5-inch-wide air-filled tires, offering excellent traction and stability. To ensure a comfortable ride, the scooter features spring arm front and rear suspensions, which effectively absorb shocks. Moreover, the moderately wide tires contribute to a smoother journey. With its impressive capabilities, the Mantis can conquer grass, dirt trails, and even reasonably smooth terrains with inclines of up to 35 degrees. The recommended weight limit for passengers and cargo is 265 pounds.

Safety and Convenience Features

The Base model is equipped with semi-hydraulic disc brakes, while the Pro model boasts the superior fully hydraulic disc brakes. Opting for hydraulic brakes means minimal to no maintenance, unlike mechanical brakes that require periodic checks and adjustments. On the handlebars, the Mantis Base variant features an LED display that shows essential information such as speed, cruise control status, and regenerative braking strength. Meanwhile, the Pro model comes with an upgraded Minimotors display that also indicates motor torque and ABS capabilities. With two front and rear LEDs, as well as a lateral LED strip, visibility is enhanced, ensuring safer rides. For night-time riding, Fluid Freeride recommends purchasing an attachable headlight.

The Mantis e-scooter is priced at $1,699 for the Base model and $2,399 for the Pro variant. However, if you take advantage of the pre-order offer before August 31, you can enjoy discounted prices of $1,499 for the Base model and $2,099 for the Pro model.

Safety First

It’s essential to prioritize safety when riding an e-scooter, especially at higher speeds. Emergency room visits resulting from e-scooter accidents are on the rise, and many riders neglect to wear helmets consistently. To ensure maximum protection, consider investing in a full-face motorcycle helmet and perhaps a Dainese Smart Jacket airbag vest. Keep in mind that when riding on public roadways and sidewalks, it’s crucial to adjust your speed accordingly.
