Fortnite Challenge Guide: Inflict Damage on Opponents with The Recycler

Season 6, week 4 of Fortnite is in progress, bringing along a fresh batch of challenges for you to conquer. While most of these quests shouldn’t pose much of a problem, there is one that requires some strategy. This particular challenge involves dealing damage to opponents with The Recycler, a weapon that can be acquired from chests or found as floor loot scattered across the map.

How to Get The Recycler

Before you can start wreaking havoc with The Recycler, you need to acquire it first. The easiest way to do so is by playing Team Rumble. Towards the end of the match, when numerous Supply Drops appear, there’s a high chance of finding The Recycler among the loot. Alternatively, you can eliminate another player who wields The Recycler to claim it for yourself. Team Rumble presents an advantage as it offers plenty of nearby enemies to eliminate and ample opportunities to find The Recycler.

How to Inflict Damage with The Recycler

Once you have obtained The Recycler, it’s time to hunt down some enemy players and deal some damage. To complete this challenge, you need to inflict 300 points of damage using The Recycler. This requirement is relatively low, especially considering how chaotic Team Rumble matches can get towards the end. The trickiest part lies in mastering the usage of The Recycler.

Functioning similarly to a grenade launcher, The Recycler deviates from the conventional ammunition usage. Instead, it operates by consuming items scattered throughout the world to replenish its ammo, hence the name “The Recycler.” To suck up items, press the left trigger, which will refill the weapon’s ammo. Keep in mind, you must fully consume an item to replenish a single ammo slot. Attempting to suck up large, sturdy objects will yield no results, so focus on smaller items like signs, various furniture pieces, or other miscellaneous junk that is smaller than vehicles. By default, The Recycler can hold up to three shots, so you may run out of ammo before completing the challenge. Fortunately, in Team Rumble, you respawn with the same weapons you had before elimination. Utilize this advantage and repeat the process until you have successfully inflicted 300 damage on your enemies.

Upon completion, you will earn a hefty 24,000 XP for your efforts.
