The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a game filled with awe-inspiring wonders waiting to be discovered, from the depths of Hyrule to the soaring skies above. One formidable enemy that players encounter is the Gleeok, a fearsome three-headed dragon. These creatures prove to be quite challenging to defeat, even for experienced players. In this guide, we will reveal the locations of Gleeoks and provide strategies to triumph over them in Tears of the Kingdom.

Where to Find Gleeoks

Gleeoks can be found in a total of 11 locations scattered across Hyrule, including the Depths and Sky Islands.

There are four types of Gleeoks: Fire, Thunder, Frost, and King Gleeoks. Although they share a fundamental nature, each possesses unique characteristics that require a slightly different approach in battle. For instance, the Frost Gleeok resides in a frigid region, necessitating the use of frost-resistant clothing.

Strategies for Defeating Gleeoks

Various strategies can be employed to overcome Gleeoks, but the easiest method involves consistently targeting and shooting all three of their eyes. This tactic staggers the creature, providing an opportunity to unleash substantial damage. Utilizing the slowdown effect while wielding a bow can greatly aid in aiming at all three eyes, especially if you have a Spring Zonai Device.

An even simpler approach is to attach a Keese Eyeball to your arrow. This causes the arrow to automatically lock onto the Gleeok’s eye, eliminating the need for precise aiming. Keese Eyeballs can be obtained by defeating Keese creatures found throughout the game.

The key is to patiently await the moment when the Gleeok takes flight high above the ground, then swiftly strike its eyes. This causes the creature to crash down, taking fall damage and remaining stunned for several seconds, allowing for further damage to be inflicted.

We advise against attempting these battles until you have acquired higher-level gear, along with increased health and stamina. Though it is possible to defeat a Gleeok early on, it requires an extensive arsenal of weapons and arrows, as well as considerable patience. Therefore, it is best to postpone these encounters until later in the game.

Benefits of Defeating Gleeoks

In general, it is worthwhile to vanquish Gleeoks, especially if you are seeking powerful gear. Upon defeat, Gleeoks drop robust materials that grant a significant power boost of 30. This is no trivial matter. By obtaining Gleeok Thunder Horns and Gleeok Wings, you can augment your weapons to deal substantially more damage.
