How to Easily Create a Folder on Your Desktop

Your desktop, whether you’re using Windows or MacOS, is the most convenient place for storing your most frequently used applications, files, and folders. Create a Folder on a Windows Desktop

Step 1: Right-click on any blank area of your desktop.

Step 2: Hover your cursor over “New” in the menu, and then select “Folder” from the pop-out menu.

Step 3: Once the folder appears, it will be automatically named “New folder.” You can easily rename it by typing your desired name and pressing Enter.

Step 4: Alternatively, you can create a desktop folder using File Explorer or by using a keyboard shortcut.

  • Open File Explorer, select “Desktop” on the left side, and click “New folder” on the “Home” tab.

Create a Folder on a Mac Desktop

Creating a folder on your Mac desktop is just as simple as it is on Windows. Whether you want to organize your desktop or have a dedicated space for future files, you’ll find it a breeze.

Step 1: Right-click on any blank area of your desktop.

Step 2: Select “New folder” at the top of the menu.
