How to Live Stream on a PS5

Are you ready to show off your gaming skills to the world? With the PlayStation 5 (PS5), you can easily stream your favorite games to platforms like Twitch and YouTube. Whether you want to share some epic moments with your friends or start your own online streaming business, the PS5 has got you covered. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of signing in to your streaming accounts and streaming on a PS5.

Linking Your Twitch Account

To start streaming on Twitch from your PS5, you’ll first need to link your Twitch account to your console. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Go to the Settings menu on your PS5.
  2. Select Users and Accounts.
  3. Choose the Link with Other Services option.
  4. Look for the Twitch icon and select it to link your account.

You can link your Twitch account using two methods. You can either scan the QR code displayed on your PS5 screen with your mobile device or visit Twitch.tv/activate on a web browser and enter the provided code.

Streaming on Twitch

Once you’re signed in to Twitch, you can start streaming your favorite games. Follow these steps:

  1. Launch the game you want to showcase.
  2. Press the Create button on your PS5 controller (located to the upper right of the D-pad).
  3. Select the Broadcast option (the icon looks like a radio tower).

After clicking the Go Live button, a “Now Broadcasting” banner will appear on your screen, indicating that you’re live. By selecting the “…” button, you can tweak your stream settings, such as enabling video and voice audio, and adjusting video quality.

To stop the stream, press the Create button again and access the Broadcasting menu. From there, you can either select the Stop Broadcast option to end the stream or the Pause Broadcast option to temporarily halt it.

Linking Your YouTube Account

Streaming on YouTube from your PS5 is similar to streaming on Twitch. You’ll need to link your YouTube account to your console first. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Go to the Settings menu on your PS5.
  2. Select Users and Accounts.
  3. Choose the Link with Other Services option.
  4. Look for the YouTube icon and select it to start the verification process.

Once your YouTube account is linked, you can start streaming in-game.

Streaming on YouTube

To stream on YouTube, follow these steps:

  1. Launch the game you want to broadcast.
  2. Press the Create button on your PS5 controller.
  3. In the on-screen menu, select the Broadcast option (the icon looks like a radio tower).
  4. Choose Go Live.

Just like with Twitch streaming, you can click the “…” button to access the settings menu and make adjustments to your video and audio preferences.

To end the stream, press the Create button again and select the Stop Broadcast option. If you want to temporarily pause the stream, you can choose the Pause Broadcast option.

Customizing Your Stream

You have several options to customize your stream on the PS5. If you have a PlayStation 4 HD Camera, you can enable your video camera and microphone. If you don’t have a dedicated microphone or headset, the audio will be captured through the microphone on your PS5 controller.

When it comes to video quality, you can choose between two options: 1280 x 720 30 fps (720p HD) and 1920 x 1080 60 fps (1080p HD). Keep in mind that higher resolutions will require more bandwidth from your network. If you encounter lag or stuttering issues during your stream, you may need to lower the video quality setting.

And that’s all you need to know to start streaming on your PS5! So go ahead, showcase your gaming skills, and let the world know what you’re capable of.
