How to Make Money Selling Cars in GTA 5

There are numerous ways to earn money in the world of Grand Theft Auto V, but one of the most exciting and lucrative methods is by stealing and selling cars. This pastime not only lives up to its namesake, but it also provides a thrilling way to make some extra cash while exploring the streets of Los Santos. Selling cars in GTA 5 may seem like a complex process, but fear not, as it’s actually quite straightforward.

Acquire a Vehicle

Before you can even think about selling a car, you’ll need to obtain one. While common cars can sell for a minimum of $1,000, it’s worth your while to search for expensive luxury and sports cars. Here’s a useful rule of thumb – the more visually appealing the car, the more valuable it tends to be. We’ve found luck in discovering pricey vehicles around Rockford Hills, but you’re likely to come across a few in any upscale shopping area.

Once you’ve spotted a car that catches your interest, simply hijack or hot-wire it and try to evade the police. It’s advisable to cause minimal damage to the car since vehicles in better condition fetch higher prices. Usually, you can speed down the road and find a quiet spot in an alley to hide, effectively evading a low-effort manhunt. As soon as the heat dies down and you lose any wanted stars, you’re ready to cash in on your new ride.

Unfortunately, there’s only one retailer in Los Santos willing to purchase your stolen goods – Los Santos Customs. This retailer has four locations scattered throughout the city, yet regardless of which one you choose, they’ll always buy your vehicle.

The following are the locations where you can find Los Santos Customs:

  • Los Santos International Airport
  • La Mesa
  • Grand Senora Desert
  • Burton

To sell your car, simply drive into Los Santos Custom’s garage. This will bring up the same menu you use to modify your ride, but it also offers the option to trade it in for cash. Scroll down to the Sell tab and confirm your selection to reap the rewards.

Valuable Cars

If you’ve been playing GTA 5 for some time and consider yourself knowledgeable about cars, it’s worth looking out for the following vehicles. The exact selling price will depend on factors such as damage and whether you stole the car or are reselling one you purchased. Nevertheless, these cars are among the most valuable in the game:

  • Albany Buccaneer
  • Benefactor Schwartzer
  • Canis Mesa
  • Declasse Tornado Convertible
  • Gallivanter Baller
  • Gallivanter Baller II
  • Lampadati Felon
  • Lampadati Felon GT
  • Obey Rocoto
  • Ubermacht Sentinel
  • Ubermacht Oracle
  • Ubermacht Oracle XS

Interestingly, these cars may not be the fastest in GTA 5. Some vehicles are simply too hot for Los Santos Customs to handle.
