Fortnite is an incredibly popular battle royale game that can be enjoyed on various platforms, including consoles, Android devices, and even your home computer. However, if you want to play Fortnite on your PC, there’s only one official option available – the Epic Games Store. The good news is that setting up and running Fortnite on your PC is a straightforward process. All you need to do is create an Epic Games account, download the Epic Games Store client, and install Fortnite. Let’s take a detailed walkthrough of how it all works.
Create an Epic Games Account
The first step is to create your personal Epic Games account, and the best part is that it’s completely free. The on-screen instructions will guide you through the process, and you’ll even have the opportunity to link Fortnite accounts from other systems. Here’s how to get started:
Step 1: Visit the official Fortnite webpage.
Step 2: Click on the Sign In button located at the top-right of the screen.
Step 3: Follow the simple instructions until you have your own username and password.
Download the Epic Games Store Client
Once you have created an account, proceed to the Download section on the Fortnite webpage. You can find it right next to the sign-in button from the previous step, or you can use this Fortnite link to start your download. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the Epic Games Store client on your system. If you plan on using it frequently, it’s worth setting up a desktop shortcut.
Install Fortnite
Step 1: After the client finishes installing, open the Epic Games Store and log in with your newly created account.
Step 2: From the Home screen, go to the Store tab on the left-hand side, which will provide access to a search bar. Type “Fortnite” into the search bar, and it should take you to the game’s listing on the marketplace.
Step 3: Now, you can add Fortnite to your library and start the installation process. If the download pauses for any reason, such as a weak or unstable connection, you can always return to the Library menu and restart the process.
Run Fortnite
Downloading the game may take some time, as the current file size is a little over 80GB.
Step 1: Once the installation process is complete, go to your library.
Step 2: Use the same menu on the left side of the page and click on the Fortnite symbol.
Step 3: This will initiate the game, and you are now ready to start playing.
Adjust Your Settings
Before jumping into a game, it’s essential to customize your settings. You have the flexibility to adjust various aspects, including mouse sensitivity, graphics quality, and key binds.
Step 1: When you’re on the main menu, navigate to Settings and explore all the submenus, making adjustments as desired.
Step 2: Once you’ve made all the modifications and everything is to your liking, return to the main menu.
Step 3: From there, you can select your game mode and immerse yourself in the action.
Remember, playing Fortnite on your PC is an exciting and enjoyable experience. So, follow these steps, get everything set up, and have a blast in the battle royale world!
