Now that many of you have started using Microsoft’s new Xbox Series X|S console, you might want to migrate your saves from Xbox One. If you’ve been playing Cyberpunk 2077 on any Xbox One console – whether it’s the original model, the S, or the X – you can easily move that save to your shiny new Xbox Series X, thanks to some handy features.

Thanks to Microsoft’s network transfer function, you can effortlessly move your Cyberpunk 2077 save from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S over the internet. To do this, make sure both your Xbox One and Xbox Series X are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. It’s best if both systems are in the same area for convenience. You can then swap HDMI cables to switch from one system to another. Alternatively, if you have enough room, connect both systems to a monitor with multiple HDMI ports.
Start by going to the My games & apps option on the main menu of your Xbox One. Scroll down to Manage and, under the Settings header, select Network Transfer. From here, you’ll see the option to enable network transfer. We also recommend updating your Xbox One to the latest firmware for compatibility with Xbox Series X|S.
Once network transfer is enabled, start your Xbox Series X|S and go back to the My games & apps section from the dashboard. Again, navigate to Manage > Network transfer. You’ll now see the name of your Xbox One console under Local consoles.
Choose your Xbox One and you’ll be presented with a list of all the Xbox One games available to copy, along with their installations and saves.
Select the game(s) you want to move – in this case, Cyberpunk 2077 – and click on Copy selected. The system will notify you that you are about to copy the game from your Xbox One to the internal memory of your Xbox Series X|S via the internet. Click Copy once more to initiate the transfer. Keep in mind that the more data you transfer, the longer it will take. For faster transfers, it’s best to use an Ethernet cable (if you don’t have one, check out our guide on how to choose the right Ethernet cable).
When you boot up Cyberpunk 2077 on your Xbox Series X|S, you may need to manually load the most recent save instead of using the Continue function.
How to Transfer Your Cyberpunk 2077 Save from Xbox One to Xbox Series X via USB

The easiest and most efficient method to transfer your save from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S is by using an external USB drive. If you want to transfer both your save and game installations, simply plug in your USB stick (ensure it’s USB 3.0) and go back to the My games & apps menu on your Xbox One.
Find Cyberpunk 2077 and press the Menu button on your controller. Then, choose the Manage game and add-ons option. From there, select the save data and click Move or copy to move it to the USB stick. Note that you’ll need to format the USB drive to work with Xbox systems. A prompt to format the drive will appear when you plug it into your Xbox for the first time. Once formatted, the drive will only be compatible with Xbox devices and not with any other non-Xbox devices.
After you’ve moved your Cyberpunk 2077 data to the USB drive, plug it into your Xbox Series X|S. Then, go to Settings from the dashboard, navigate to System, and select Storage. Here, you’ll find your internal memory and the external device. Choose the external device (located below the internal one) and select Move or copy.
Select Cyberpunk 2077, and the system will copy all the data, including the installation file, from the external drive to the internal drive. This method is faster than transferring over the internet, even if you’re using an Ethernet cable.
Once the copying process is complete, start up Cyberpunk 2077 on your Xbox Series X|S and manually load the desired save file, as the game may not prompt you to continue.
