How to Transform Finizen into Palafin in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Your Pokémon squad is in need of a savior. Specifically, it requires the aquatic superhero Pokémon known as Palafin.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are packed with peculiar evolutions, and Palafin is unquestionably among the most extraordinary. To evolve your Finizen into Palafin, you’ll need to utilize the game’s multiplayer Union Circle mode and employ a distinct move to switch forms in the midst of battle.

Evolution Process: Turning Finizen into Palafin

Evolving Finizen isn’t a complex task, but it involves a rather unique process that requires some preparation.

Step 1: Ensure that the Finizen you wish to evolve is at level 37 or higher. Finizen evolves when it reaches level 38.

Before entering the Union Circle, make sure your Finizen is close to reaching level 38 (or beyond) to save yourself time and resources.

Step 2: Join a Union Circle session with a friend.

You can initiate or join a Union Circle session at various Pokémon Centers scattered across the map or by accessing the Poké Portal in the main menu.

If you don’t have any buddies available to join your Union Circle adventure, fear not! It’s relatively simple to find a partner on the internet through the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet subreddit or a popular Discord server.

Step 3: Once inside the Union Circle, all you need to do is raise your Finizen’s level. You can achieve this by engaging in battles with wild Pokémon or by using XP candies to save time.

Once Finizen reaches a level greater than 37, it will instantaneously evolve into the remarkable Palafin.

How to Utilize Palafin’s Hero Form

You might initially feel a tad disappointed after witnessing the evolution of Finizen. Palafin appears nearly identical, but there’s a peculiar twist to this story.

Palafin can only assume its Hero form during battles by employing a specific move. We’ll guide you through the process.

Step 1: Upon evolving into Palafin, it will attempt to learn the move Flip Turn. This move is crucial for unlocking Palafin’s Hero form, so ensure it learns it promptly. If you accidentally missed learning the move during the evolution process, it’s always possible to relearn it by adjusting Palafin’s moves in its summary.

Step 2: Flip Turn functions similarly to moves like Volt Switch or U-Turn. When Palafin executes this move, it withdraws into its Pokéball, prompting you to send out another Pokémon.

Using this move triggers Palafin’s unique transformation, taking it from Zero to Hero and causing it to assume its more captivating Hero form before returning to your party. In its Hero form, Palafin boasts higher base stats in every category except for HP and speed.

When you reintroduce Palafin into battle, it will appear in its Hero form, switching back to its Zero form once the battle concludes.
