Meta Quest 2 Expands Gaming Library with Former PlayStation VR Exclusive and More

Meta Quest Pro Introduces Immersive Mixed Reality Game

Meta, the tech giant, is making significant strides in the gaming industry by expanding the Meta Quest 2’s game offerings. The virtual reality (VR) headset will soon feature popular titles such as Iron Man VR and Among Us VR. Additionally, the newly unveiled Meta Quest Pro will include a captivating mixed reality game called I Expect You To Die: Home Sweet Home. Furthermore, Oculus Studios has welcomed three talented development teams, including the creators of the VR port for the renowned game Resident Evil 4.

During the Meta Connect stream, where the company introduced the Meta Quest Pro, Meta made it clear that it remains committed to supporting the Quest 2 as a gaming platform. The stream was packed with exciting gaming announcements. One of the surprises was the upcoming release of Iron Man VR, which was previously exclusive to PlayStation VR. Quest 2 owners can look forward to experiencing this thrilling game on November 3. Another exciting addition is Among Us VR, set to be available on November 10, with players who pre-order unlocking a special Mini Crewmate hat. The highly anticipated Chapter 2 of The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, titled Retribution, has also been scheduled for a December 1 release date.

In addition to these beloved titles, Meta is introducing two new projects for the VR headset. The highly popular multiplayer VR game, Population: One, will soon feature a sandbox mode that allows players to create their own unique experiences. This aligns perfectly with Meta’s vision for the Metaverse. Moreover, the team behind the exceptional combat in The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners series is developing a new game called Behemoth. Although the teaser trailer did not reveal much, Meta promises an intense survival action game set in a dark and grim world, similar to The Walking Dead.

Moving on to the Meta Quest Pro, this upgraded headset will showcase its enhanced passthrough technology with the release of I Expect You To Die: Home Sweet Home. In this “mixed reality mini-mission,” players will interact with objects within their own physical play space. The trailer offers a glimpse of sprinklers projected onto the player’s ceiling and puzzle clues displayed on walls. This exciting title will be available as a free download for both Quest 2 and Quest Pro on October 25.

Meta’s commitment to the gaming industry is further evidenced by its investment in Oculus Studios. The renowned Iron Man VR development team, Camoflauj, has joined the studio, along with Twisted Pixel and Armature Studio. Notably, Armature Studio was responsible for bringing Resident Evil 4 to Quest 2. Although the exact nature of their current projects remains undisclosed, Meta assures us that these talented studios are working on exciting new ventures.

During the show, Meta celebrated its success in the gaming market, highlighting that players have already spent a staggering $1.5 billion on games and apps in the Quest store.
