The Top Weapons in Remnant 2: A Guide for Players

While personal skill can compensate for a weak weapon in most Souls-like games, like Remnant 2, it’s never enjoyable to spend excessive time in fights due to insufficient damage output. Unlike traditional games in the genre, Remnant 2 places a heavy emphasis on firearms, although there are still numerous viable melee options. Despite guns typically not having extensive stats, they have just as many factors to consider for your build as any Dark Souls weapon does, especially when it comes to upgrades. With precious materials at stake, you don’t want to invest in a gun that turns out to be useless in the endgame. So, where can you find the best weapons worth your time in Remnant 2?

Cube Gun: The Unparalleled Handgun

The Cube Gun stands out as one of the most formidable weapons in Remnant 2. This special handgun comes with a mod called Cube Shield, which adds an extra layer of defense. With a default damage of 15, a firing rate of 7.5 rounds per second (RPS), and a magazine size of 5, the Cube Gun is already a strong weapon. However, it’s the mod that truly sets this gun apart. By activating Cube Shield, you create a protective shield around your character for 15 seconds. The shield can absorb up to 800 damage at level 1. What’s more, if you activate the mod a second time while it’s active, the shield transforms into a projectile that deals damage to any enemy it hits. The damage dealt increases based on the amount of damage the shield has absorbed.

To acquire the Cube Gun, you can craft it with McCabe using 1 Conflux Prism, 7 Lumenite Crystals, and 650 Scrap.

Nightfall: The Unrivaled Long Gun

For most players, the Nightfall will be their primary long gun in Remnant 2. It easily surpasses others in its class. With a base damage of 31, a firing rate of 5 RPS, and a magazine size of 10, Nightfall impresses even before considering its mod. When you activate the Dreadwalker mod, the weapon becomes fully automatic with infinite ammo. Additionally, the fire rate increases by 35%, and you gain a 10% lifesteal effect. This incredible power boost lasts for 10 seconds, providing ample time to vanquish normal mobs or inflict heavy damage on bosses.

To obtain the Nightfall, you can craft it at McCabe’s workshop using 1 Cursed Dream Silks, 7 Lumenite Crystals, and 650 Scrap.

Enigma: The Electrifying Handgun

As an alternative to the Cube Gun, Enigma offers significantly higher damage output. Starting at 22 damage with a firing rate of 4 RPS, Enigma is a force to be reckoned with. However, the true potential of this handgun lies in its mod. With Chaos Driver, Enigma fires electrical spikes that chain lightning between enemies within a 10-meter range. This inflicts 20 shock damage per second for 10 seconds. Moreover, each spike deals an additional 25% damage compared to the previous one. When used effectively, Enigma can decimate groups of enemies within seconds.

To acquire Enigma, head to McCabe’s workshop and gather 1 Cipher Rod, 7 Lumenite Crystals, and 650 Scrap.

Dreamcatcher: The Crowd-Control Melee Weapon

For a formidable melee option, consider the Dreamcatcher due to its exceptional crowd-control capabilities. The weapon starts off with a hefty 58 damage and a wide arc that can hit multiple enemies simultaneously. The Dreamwave mod activates when you deal 250 damage with the Dreamcatcher. Once triggered, your next charge attack releases a wave 20 meters ahead, slowing down anything it hits for 10 seconds. Additionally, each enemy hit grants you one stack of reverie. Each stack provides a 2% damage and speed buff for 15 seconds.

To obtain the Dreamcatcher, you’ll need to venture into the Asylum in Losomn and feed the Nightweaver’s Web the Nighweaver Stone Doll.

Alpha/Omega: The Explosive Firepower

While the Alpha/Omega might not live up to its name entirely, it comes incredibly close. With base stats of 15 damage and a firing rate of 7.2 RPS, it may not seem impressive at first glance. However, the real power lies in the mods. Beta Ray marks a target with the Branded status for 30 seconds. When a Branded enemy dies, it leaves behind a brand that detonates upon reloading or switching weapons, dealing a colossal 225 damage. Each brand applied to the same enemy amplifies the damage by 50%. Moreover, killing enemies with the Alpha/Omega refunds between 5% and 15% of ammo and mod power to your gun.

To acquire the Alpha/Omega, visit McCabe’s workshop and gather 1 Forgotten Memory, 7 Lumenite Crystals, and 650 Scrap.

Nebula: The Acidic Handgun

Our final recommendation is Nebula, a handgun with a truly unique ability. With a base damage of 12 compensated by a firing rate of 8 RPS and a magazine size of 55, Nebula may seem underwhelming. However, its mod, Nano Swarm, is the main attraction. When activated, Nebula releases a cloud of nanomachines that home in on enemies. Each hit inflicts continuous acid damage of 6 per hit for 15 seconds.

Create your own Nebula at McCabe’s workshop using 1 Spiced Bile, 7 Lumenite Crystals, and 650 Scrap.
