Wo Long: A Comprehensive Guide to Morale in Fallen Dynasty

What is Morale?

Let’s start with the fundamental concept of Morale in the action RPG game, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Morale serves as a tug-of-war mechanic that affects both your offensive and defensive capabilities. As your Morale rank increases, your character becomes more proficient in dealing damage to enemies while also reducing incoming damage. Remember, your Morale rank is exclusive to the current mission and can reach a maximum of 25. Once you complete a mission and move on, your Morale rank resets to 1.

Similar to other souls-like games, enemies in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty possess their own Morale ranks, which are displayed above their health bars. If an enemy’s Morale rank surpasses yours, they will inflict less damage and withstand attacks more effectively. Conversely, if your Morale rank exceeds that of your enemies, you’ll have the advantage. It’s easy to gauge the disparity between Morale ranks by observing the color-coding. Red indicates the most dangerous enemy, followed by purple, yellow, and finally green, which poses the least threat.

During each mission, your Morale level is subject to fluctuation. Defeating enemies will contribute a small number of Morale points, but you can amplify your gains by successfully executing Spirit attacks, Martial Arts techniques, and Fatal Strikes. Conversely, your Morale will decline if you suffer Critical Blows or, more severely, if you fall in battle and experience death.

What is Fortitude?

Fortitude acts as the baseline for your Morale level. If you have no Fortitude and repeatedly fall in battle, your Morale rank will reset to 1. However, if you possess a Fortitude rank of, for example, 15, your Morale rank will only drop to 15 even with multiple deaths.

Keep in mind that Fortitude is specific to each stage of the game and starts at 0 for every mission. You can accumulate Fortitude points by strategically deploying Battle Flags and Marking Flags found within each stage.
